UPDATE: Accident 6th Feb

Posted by John Seccombe | 04/04/2023

UPDATE: Following from the accident of the 6th February which left one of our buildings in a dangerous state, we have been working hard with our insurance company to expedite a repair to our now distressed building in order to have the scaffolding and traffic lights on Syon Lane, Jersey Road & Windmill Lane removed. Despite repeated pleas to them to move as quickly as possible, the insurance process has been painfully slow and methodical, frustrating a quick resolution. Our contractor has finally been given go ahead to start peeling back the damage on Tuesday 11th April in order to access hidden parts of our 200+ year old building to ensure the structural engineers have a full understanding of task ahead. These ‘enabling works’ are critical but will lead to ultimately having the scaffolding removed. It is still unclear as to how long this stage will take but we are sure we will finally be seeing some visible progress. We will look to update you all again when the Engineers have completed these final tests and we have a working timescale.

We hugely appreaciate the patience and understanding of our local residents, businesses, and commuters who continue to experience these disruptions and we continue to assure you that we are doing everything we can to resolve this in a speedy fashion.

With regards to the driver and occupants of the car. They were charged at the time of the incident but the case is still under investigation and cannot update us further at this time.
